I charged the battery.. According to the charger I used the battery is good... Again all electrical inside the cab i.e. Radio, aftermarket fog lights, headlights, dome lights even the dinging when you turn the key before starting.. The truck now makes no noise at all when trying to start... I did discover fuse #5 under the hood which is a 40amp is blown.. What does this mean?

While trying to turn the key to start my friend noticed the relay was making a sound and noticed a spark from it... How do you know if the relay is bad?

That has happened to me on my 99 disco 2 and on my old 300zx. Both cars had bad connections at the battery. Lights and radio worked fine until I tried to crank, then got one loud 'click' and nothing else. Usually fixed by wiggling battery connections or cleaning / tightening.

This happened to me once a long time ago, it was a
the inertia switch button on the firewall that I pushed in and all was good. Might be as simple as that.

Tap the starter with a wrench or a ratchet. Then try to start it again. If you're lucky, you might be able to get one last start from the starter (if that's the issue). This has gotten me out of trouble before on my previous cars.

Turn on the headlights or the cabin lights and see if the lights dim at all when you turn the key. Then follow the steps in this video and report back:

Instead of all this testing, climb under that D2 with an 8MM allen 3/8 socket (kinda odd socket, but LR slapped the starter on with allen head bolts), some 3/8 extensions, and remove that starter! If tapping on it with a hammer didn't fix it, yank it off, go to Auto Zone and grab one for 99.00 or at least have em test it.

It may be either the LT fuse to the starter relay or even the LT relay itself.

Connect a piece of 10 amp wire to the starter solenoid LT connection and touch it onto the battery, if the starter kicks in OK then it's either the relay, the connectors or the wiring.

I had an 04 Jeep GC not wanna start 100 miles from no where out at the lake one time. I checked the battery, all good, relays, fuses, and all checked out. I left it alone until we were gonna leave and I put the key into position II, climbed under it and bypassed the solenoid after tapping on it. Turned right over and I headed home.

Found out later I had a bad solenoid and a flat spot on the starter. Slapped in a replacement and that 04 Jeep 4.7L GC never started that good the entire 4-5 years I had owned it!!!!

My 98 D1 turned over pretty weak when I bought it. Cleaned all the terminals and still slow/weak. Slapped in a D2 starter and retired the original and it turns over so smooth and fast now.

They get old and tired, and eventually die. It's not a bad job (heatshield was the biggest PITA), but 100.00 plus your old dead one for a core and you're good to go.
