This person sells locally here in San Diego, CA area. Personally I would STAY AWAY. He has like 3 of these trucks posted, all with the same upgrades.

My theory is he buys Rovers for 2-4grand and puts 1-2K of work and flips them for 12-15K. Ridiculous.

Same stuff is going on in Houston. Chinese fuel cans, cheap half racks, no name winches, butchered grills, never replaced 30.00 leather 4WD/Ebrake boots..., and nothing even mentioned about engine status. 12-16k all day long on 99-04 D2’s.

Local Houston CL is now flooded with 7-9k D2 beaters that couldn’t even probably pass state inspections.... The 99-04’s with dead engines are like 2500.00 now vs 500-1000.00. Supply n demand I guess, but it’s funny/sad at the same time.

There is a Mexicanized looking grey 04 on there with fake fender vents, a hood scoop, ARB Deluxe Bar, Thule half basket rack, and he wants 4k for it, but the best part by far is the fact it was in 2ft of water during Harvey, no longer runs, wasn’t dried out (BLACK MOLD!!!), and water is in the LF headlight.....

 

Once gas prices go up nationwide again, D2s will be much cheaper. Just the past month here gas has gone up to around $3.50 and a whole bunch of D2s have been listed on Craigslist for cheap.

 

Honestly as much as we hate them, overall it is probably very good for the long term "classic" value of our rovers. Range rover classic, defender, etc. We all know disco's are junk but their value might skyrocket as the last "cheap" rover you can buy.

 

I thought their were more of these probably by the same seller.


I agree, gas prices kill the rover market.

 

Love it! Cheap ebay $250 winch and a very large Warn decal on the bumper next to it. Along with the knockoff Safari Snorkel. Those should raise the price by $5000

 

I know of this place, CASPIAN AUTOMOTIVE and ALL they sell is high mileage (very detailed/"shiny") auction garbage.
They want $13,995 on the website for that '04 ebay turd.
