Default '04 Roof Rail Swap

PURCHASED A PAIR THROUGH ANOTHER SITE MEMBER. THANKS ALL!

So I just ordered a Thule rack system after checking their site and confirming that it would fit my '04 D2. Unfortunately I'm new to the LR scene and didn't realize that some '04 D2's have fat rails and others, including all the prior model years, have the slimmer style. Also unfortunately, Thule doesn't seem to be aware of this either, as they indicated their Evo raised rail feet would fit my vehicle.

I could, of course return the system (although i bought it in two separate pieces from amazon and ebay, which means I'll have to pay return shipping and deal with return policies etc). But I also really want the versatility of actually having a common rack system and not trying to fit something else onto the rain gutters with a high clearance.

With that in mind, I'm considering replacing the big fat rails with the slimmer version. What are my options? Should I try to find someone with the slims that doesn't mind doing an even trade (ANY TAKERS!?).. Or do I try to find a used set of rails (how much would they even go for?).. I imagine it may be hard to price as it's probably not a commonly purchased item. Any other ideas? Thank you very much for any advice!

Get a set of roof rails from a junkyard, or post a want or trade ad for them here.
They will be cheap, as there is no real demand.

I wish you were in California, cuz I'd swap with you. Try the local wrecking yards...

Yeah unfortunately there are almost no decent wrecking yards near me. It's all scrap metal yards. I wonder how much shipping would be, if it's under 75 bucks it would be worth it to me. Need these before ski season starts!
