Default 1 5/8 inch lift ?

If I install a 1 5/8 inch lift would I be able to fit 285 75 R16 tires?

probably not. The 2" lift is probably the most common, most people can fit 265/75 with no rubbing. I have seen a few people on this forum with that size lift and 285/75 tire and no rubbing but I'm not positive.

Where are you looking at getting a 1 5/8" lift? That's a rather odd size. Your best bets are either Rovertym, or OME. I'd go with RTE and you'll need a 3" lift to run 33" tires. In fact I don't know if the HD OME's would yield enough lift for the tires you want to run.

The 1 5/8 was at British Atlantic. I dont have my heart set on 33" tires 32" are good enough and cheaper. I willcheck out Rovertym. Thanks for the info. Its time for me to help boost the economy.

Rovertym and OME 2" lifts are very comparable in price and quality. Either one is a good choice. The Super Gaz 1-5/8" lift is a good lift according to the guys at AB but not nearly as popular here in the states. Rovertym also makes a 3" and 5" lift for the Disco but once you get to a 3" lift you have to start changing more than just the suspension components. A 3" lift would be the minimum required to run a 285/75 tire and would probably require a different offset wheel than stock to keep the tries from rubbing.

The OME heavy duty is the 2" lift.

All of the OME lifts measure out to about 2 inches. The weight rating is just that. The weight rating. HD is for use if you plan on adding an upgraded bumper or roof rack or anything that has some extra weight on it.
