Looking for a 2004, Disco 2 windshield cowl. The cowl is completely gone. The wipers work. I duck taped the bottom part where the windshield ends. What will happen when you don’t have a cowl?

The only real issue is the heat/air intake is open and will get rain down in it. If you can figure some kind of cover for that, there's no real issue.

Default Picture of my DIY

Should I remove this. I was scared the rain would do something to the electrical or engine.

Missing windshield cowl on Disco 2. When it rains I don’t drive.

Any suggestions on what else could work? If I had the money to buy one I would.

As Alex says you need to prevent water from getting into the HVAC fan inlet. My D2 came for scrap price due to water getting in there, and then into the engine ECU, rendering it unstartable.

Fena.... these cowls rarely get taken off the D2's that wind up at the salvage yards. So, accordingly (in my experience) the wreckers don't ask much for them. Car-Part.com would help you locate one...
Good luck!
