12 mpg hwy!?
okay, I wasn't expecting great gas mileage, but that sounds awful low. took our first road trip in the Disco this wknd, about 600 miles r/t, at 70-80, and was getting about 12-13 mpg. does that sound low?
Uh I just drove from San Diego to Fort Collins a few weeks ago. I averaged about 17-18mpg with the truck filled to the brim with tools, camping gear, and other useless crap I should've left at home.
My truck is lifted with over sized tires but (when it was running) it ran pretty smooth. I don't normally push the rpm's over 2k unless I'm hill climbing (screw that pass that goes through Vail)
If you go through DiscoMikes list and change out all the fluids, spark plugs and what not these trucks do ok.
Edit : also I check my mileage by topping up, setting the trip then when I top up again I divide number of miles driven by how much gas I need to fill up again.

ok, so it sounds like we're in the right ballpark. that's the UG reading, verified with basic math skills and some sobbing at the frequent gas station stops. We were driving I-95 and the Turnpike in FL, and you can't drive less than 70 without causing a wreck. Checked the difference in mpg b/t 70 and 80 and it was miniscule, so we ran at 80, hot as ***** out there too.
let me hijack my own thread... lots of wind noise up at 70-80, especially the front drivers A pillar and the rear pass door/window. any common issues relating to these? checked the seals, all seem good. maybe the finisher pieces not on properly?

mine was the door seals. I took them all off, conditioned/washed and put them back on. it got rid of most of the noise.still get ,an every once in a while, noise from a gust, here and there. they looked fine, too.

are you checking via math or? o2s swap can help, but it looks like you did that.
