Default 14 Degees . Shi&*^ happens

It's 14 degrees , snowing with gusts of wind , in Portland Oregon . And **** happens . My ignition was a little sluggish . My fuel , tach , gas , and speedo did not want to register . Came back on after driving for 15 minutes . Went to coffee drive thru , and driver window did not want to work . ALL other windows move , but not driver . What are the temp limits on these rigs ?? What can I do to prevent this ??

I suspect your driver's window is frozen to the rubber, you live in a part of the world where it rains a lot and now you've got an Arctic blast and there's probably some residual moisture somewhere. You can spray the rubber once it thaws out a bit with silicone and that will help drive away the moisture and prevent it from sticking going forward. I suspect the same is true of the electronics inside the cab and maybe even under the hood. Now that the weather is truly cold the humidity in the air is also going to be very very low. You can probably let the truck sit and idle in the driveway for 30 minutes to an hour with the heater on full blast and it will dry out the inside under hood and even the windows should unfreeze. Also a good idea to spray the lock cylinders with some WD-40

No problems here in New England when temps drop
to near or below zero even. I do have some strange electrical issues when it gets hot during the summer on occasion.

Door was difficult to open , this morning , as it was almost frozen shut . No power to window . Could the harness become uncoupled ? All other windows work .

@Tomzsix Same thing up here in BC, just enough moisture around to put a light freeze on the windward side. I use a tiny bit of silcone grease on the door seal it helps.

16 degrees this morning . After starting , tach , speedo , fuel , and temp won't register . Driving half hour later , all warmed up , instruments suddenly come alive . Is there any way to prevent this from happening in cold weather ? Do I need to grease anything ? Still , with my window , no power . Leads me to believe that wires must have cracked and broke .

-6 F in the Midwest this morning. glad i have a strong starter and battery, cause it took a little time for the engine to catch.

once started it ran well, though the turn signal did take two tries before it would work.

Here in Indianpolis, IN, -1° after a good 2+days of rain. Started right up. Of course, it was kept in the garage and has a block heater on it.

But even when its' kept outside with the heater unplugged, with a good battery, not a problem at -20° or more. With Indiana weather, wait 5 min and it will be totally different.

@Tomzsix My bet is you have a cold solder problem, just enough that it creates problem when it very cold. Once the Disco gets hot enough things warm up and expand, and the problem goes away. Could also be corrosion on a ground or major connection creating the same sort of issue. The heat allows expansion and a better connection.

Pretty sure these vehicles were tested in Arctic, hence the throttle body heater so they should operate fine at cold temps but they are all 20+ years old. When its very cold (12F or below) mine usually takes a couple of ignition cranks, the windshield wipers may be a bit intermittent and the turn signals don't work until the cab warms up.
