156K 02 D2 for $2250, would you do it?
I have the opportunity to purchase a second Disco for about 2 grand. It has 156k miles, 2002, its gold, interior is decent, a few dents and scrapes but nothing too bad. I am going to check it out tonight and will check for crazy leaks, milky oil, service history and all that.
No CEL, but 3 amigos comes and goes.
I am just curious what your gut reaction is.

3 Amigos being on wouldn't even make me blink or think twice!
Super simple system to work on once you get a decent reader that can read the LR specific fault codes. Then it's Option B, new shuttle valve switch assembly, and maybe a hub/wheel sensor. Then say Adios to the 3 Amigo's and enjoy ABS/TC/HDC. I laugh about any 3 Amigo's comment nowadays because any Jeep JK/JKU basically suffers from the same exact thing except there is no Option B fix. It's more ECU programming/flash/firmware issues vs cracked wiring/bad ground/internal connector in the Wabco Unit which you can actually fix. I know of at least 3-5 Jeep owners that bought a JK/JKU, and either had it living at the dealership, bought back as a lemon, or just gave up and sold it and moved onto a Toyota 4Runner TRD.
If you can take an Ultra Gauge, Bluetooth OBD2 unit to monitor engine temps, or view pending/set codes. That will help out a lot on making a decision! Good luck and post some pics if you would like!

Rust is the only thing that would give me serious pause. The rest depends on what you want it for. If the frame is shot it's good for parts only. If the frame is solid, with enough time and money it can be anything you want. You may well eclipse the value of the truck on that journey, but if all you want is a trail rig then perhaps it's a good deal.
