Default 1995 Discovery

There is a 1995 Discovery at a local lot. The guy wants around $5k for it, although it has been sitting in the same lot for a couple of years. Fuel pump is out, so I can't say how it runs or anything.
I don't know how to insert pictures here, but I created an album of it in the site, titled 1995 Discovery.
What do you all think?

What does that "SS"" mean?

A 95 D1 is worth $1000 to $1500 at the most. Let it sit and look for another one or wait till he gets a rational moment and decides it is time to sell it.

I bought another (a 1994 seven seater) for $1700. I only wanted to see if anyone knew what that SS symbol represented or if it was something someone stuck on the truck "for looks". (Prices are a little inflated in our area because of the mexican market).
Mine is now in the shop because it sometimes overheats and we are trying to find the cause. I have had the radiator rodded (I think this is what is called when they push a flat metal through each line to clean it), the thermostat replaced, the motor flushed and the truck still overheats. Supposedly the water pump is new as well, as is the fan clutch (as per the previous owner).
My mechanic thinks it is not the head gaskets because he says that if it was them the truck would overheat all the time. It doesn't, but when it does it sure goes up quickly. Any ideas what it could be?

Just to give you some idea of what that truck is worth.

DI's hold their value, but that truck is not worth $5,000 with it not running.
No way in hell.
And the "SS" was just somebody trying to pimp out the truck.
Keep looking unless you can get that truck for under $3,000.

Water pump.
It overheats while idling or after you come off the expressway doesnt it?

Tell the dealer to put down the crack pipe and offer him $1000, but only if everything else looks perfect.
A '96 with a bad fuel pump just sold here in Atlanta for $800 on craigslist.

Yep $5K is nuts! Here's a 2001 DII that I thought was kind of high at $2500?!
