RE: 1996 Inoperable Moon Roof
Leave it closed and dont worry about it, your tracks are toast and the only fix is a new sunroof, common on DI's.
About $1500 to repair.
If the motor is bad then you need a new sunroof, about $1500 to repair.
Because it clicks when youi press the button then the button is good.
If it was the sunroof ECU then you would not get anything from the front sunroof button. No click, nothing.

I bought a new set of sunroof rails off ebay for less than $100. I have not installed them yet but after reading a post on DiscoWeb's tech section it seems pretty straight forward to remove and replace the rails. I'm pretty certain I can get it done for less than $1500 even if I have my mechanic do it. Spike just doens't like the sunroof because the sun is hot on his bald head.

You mean there's sun in Michigan? Just because he likes to wear the Hawaiian shirts doesn't mean it's sunny outside.

In my mind I am always on a beach in the Carribean sipping umbrella drinks...watching the Disco's go by.
