1998 discovery Tdi Advice
i have been looking for a decent one for quiet a while but its very difficult to find them over here..........since im really in need of a car i was thinking maybe i should get something else in the meantime.........the only thing that came in my mind was grand cherokees from about 95 with 6 cylinders.
is there anyone that had both disco 1 and grand cherokee, most important for me is reliability! i have driven a few grand cherokees and i think the interior quality is like the worst on the market.
How is it with the lr tdi's engines? is that something to trust in? planning a roadtrip to austria about 5000km and i definitly do not want to get stranted with a blown head gasket on the way
any help is appreciated.

Everything that I have ever heard about the TDI is all good. I believe that is the engine that they use when they do the Camel Trophy. We would LOVE to get out hands on them here in the States.
As far as the Jeep goes, it is close in offroad prowness to the LR's but not quite. And yes the interior build quality is sub par, typical American car, close to good, but not good, almost though.
