My radiator has a crack about 2 inches along the upper most tube in the radiator, should i check for a head gasket problem before replacing radiator? maybe a clt test or a sniffer test since the system cannot really be checked with the crack in radiator? vehicle was randomly overheating while offroad and i removed the thermostat to get back home and replaced with a new one. I guess what im getting at is should i check for head gasket problems when the engine runs really well other than overheating and the crack in radiator?

Old radiators crack, replace it along with a new t/stat, bleed it good, and you should be fine.
Search on line for new radiator prices, about half of what the dealer wants. Make sure to fill it with Dexcool, replace the upper hose if it still has the bleed screw built into thr hose itself.
