Default 2" lifts?

so here is my thinking.

i want to continue to use my 18" HRE wheels but would like to add some more aggressive off road rubber.

so will swapping my stock springs to a HD EMU spring gain me the desired height gain of about 1-1/2 to 2 inches or is a lift needed?

i am not going to build my rig into a crawler, but more of a aggressive trail rig.

Yup the OME lift is pretty much the standard as far as 2" lifts for Rovers go. Make sure you swap your shocks as well or your truck will ride funny and you won't have very good articulation. Check expeditionexchange for a good explanation of the different springs that are available.

Many have said the OME HD give the best ride at a 2" lift. Enjoy!

I run the springs/shocks and can't complain.

go with rovertym. talk to jordan and he'll tell which springs and shock would work best for you.

Spent some time on the phone with Disco Mike discussing this very question. After talking to him I get the impression that either OME or Rovertym are great lifts. The opinions expressed on this forum also seem to agree with what Mike said.

Well OME is about a 1 1/2-2" lift. and the RTE 2" is more like a 2 3/4" lifte (almost 3")

So it just depends on how much of a life you want. I would rather have the RTE. But I bought this lift before I knew about RTE.

There's really not a huge price difference between the OME and RTE 2" so it really comes down to what you want. RTE does make a 2", 3" and 5" whereas OME is pretty much strictly 2". I would think the RTE 2" is about the same as OME while the 3" is the 2-3/4" that Jupiter mentioned but I don't know for certain.

RTE 2" is literally about 2 1/2 -2 3/4 (almost 3") lift. RTE 2" Does give more lift than OME 2". OME 2" is more around 1 1/2- 2" depending on which springs you get. (779= 1 1/2; 751 = 2")

No experience with RTE 3" but many say they get nearly 4" of lift out of the RTE 3".

I learned this after hours of research on many forums. I have measurements on my computer from people who had certain lifts.

This forum will not let me attach my Xcel document saying it is "not supported." lol.

If you are going to use this as a semi crawler, get rid of the 18" wheels, they won't stand a chance in the rocks.
As for the OME lift, the are 4 for the D2, might want to get in touch with me to taklk abiut which will work better.
