someone makes some disconnects I think L8 has them? For the money I’d try the LR3 front links and see how it does. That’s my plan for my wife’s disco just haven’t gotten around to it yet.

Maybe I'll give it a try, by dirt nap you mean rolled? Haha. Some obstacles like that appear scary because the only trucks you see going up them are Jeeps with 40s. L8 has quick disconnects for about $90 with free shipping which is probably as affordable as just buying used LR3 links.

edit: I just looked at your Instagram, cool truck. Looks pretty similar to mine. I bet you've also dealt with how low that damn ARB bumper is. So, I am probably going to stay around there for 2 weeks, maybe longer. I'm a programmer and work for myself, so I have a lot of flexibility in my schedule. Any recommendations of trails to do, things to see, etc.? I've been thinking about going to CO too.

More of a little flop and it bounced right back with only a cracked mirror. LR3 front links are under $30 last I checked. If you do it right you wouldn’t even need a cdl for hells gate but I’m not sure I could run my exact line again. Plus wheel spin there could be very bad

Oh yea the ARB is going away sometime just have other things to work out before I get to that point (I despise it and beat on it pretty good as it's always in the way lol). I am hoping to 3 link the front suspension this winter depending on how I handle the blown headgaskets (just do gaskets or pull it and swap in 4.6 internals and a cam..). What time of year are you coming out? CO has a million things to do but a lot of the high country isn't open until July 4th if not later depending on snow pack so that's a huge factor. I've never been to Moab in the "peak" seasons, I only go in the winter when there is no one there and I'll adapt if it snows. Hard to beat running Hells revenge and seeing 2 people or no one on top of the world, I don't like crowds or big groups when wheeling so it's perfect imo. Can't go wrong with anything around Moab but I think Elephant Hill is my favorite trail I've run so far, Hells and fins and things are fun once but I've run them a few times now and don't plan on it this year. Top of the World has an epic view but it is a jarring trip imo and not that convenient. Onion Creek is super easy but is a fun ride if already out that way to run Top of the World.

I have the 3 inch hd lift from terrfirma, They are firm, but in a hard corner i like them alot, off road with about 18 psi in the tires they are nice. i lengthened all the brake lines and abs lines, i swapped the old front swaybar ends to the rear as they are almost exactly 3 inches longer than the stock rear swaybar ends. the rear flexes so well i had to put limiting straps on to keep the coils from just falling out when flexed.

there are times i wish the springs were a little softer, but we did 300 miles in the colorado back country on them so far and i am happy with the HD spring rate.

I'm going in June, not sure if it's wroth going to CO then. As for the ARB bumper, I'd love to get rid of mine except I bought it and I feel like I'm throwing away almost $1500 doing that. I just wish there were some benefit to it, I feel like I've wasted a lot of money between that and my OME lift. I also have a TF rear steel bumper, which I sorta regret. I wish I bought an RTE bumper and just trimmed the rear quarter. Maybe that'll help someone in the future.

I run 275/70-18’s (33”)with an ARB up front. I never installed extended brake lines, they are still sitting in the shelf. I can’t speak to running HD up front and MD in the rear. I’ve never tried it. BUT I can tell you with absolute certainty that an unloaded 2000 Land Rover Discovery II with 3” HD RTE coils rides like a wagon on concrete wheels. In the rear anyway. I really don’t think many people need HD unless they live with several hundred pounds of gear regularly loaded.

If you're currently sitting on a 2inch lift I'd personally just slap on some 1inch spacers under the coil spring plates. Then you'd have 3inch of lift with a MD ride vs HD ride. 3inch is a very good spot for a D2 to be great on/off road. All 3 of my D2's sit on 3inch lifts and they can go anywhere I want. Hells Revenge should be a breeze on 2inch/3inch lift. The guys at TFL Offroad had a nicely setup 04 and it made Hells Revenge look like a walk in the park.

The TFL D2 had an ARB and I never saw it get in the way for them on Hells Revenge. I am dying to get out there and run that trail and Black Bear Pass along the way!

front bumper isn't an issue there as much as the rear. TFL guys are a bit of joke imo can't stand watching them. They ran Red Cone and made it seem like a hard trail...sure some pucker factor but it's not actually hard and their "proving" grounds is on one of the easiest trails outside of Boulder, any 4x4 with TC or some skill should have no issue on the spur they use. If/when you come out this way and let's hit the trail! Hells Revenge is not a hard trail if you don't want it to be, the section right after the entrance fin used to be brutal but they filled that in this past spring, a crown vic ran the trail at one point..now it can get rather hard if you choose to run the escalator or tip over challenge. The hot tubs never interested me but looking at some of the smaller ones zero chance a d2 is going in and out under it's own power lol.

Black Bear Pass is up there on my list. I'll let you know when I'm in town if you're interested!

The issue I had is Rovers North sold me OME MD springs as suitable for a steel bumper AND winch, which they certainly are not. That's 250 lbs of extra weight. The front is sagging maybe an inch, I'm not very happy with it. That said, you'd still go with spacers? My issue is the bumper is so low I need all the clearance I can get. I bought a winch on black Friday but have yet to fit it since I bet it'll drop another 0.5-1".
