I recently had a 2001 Discovery II SE. I think I am going to get a 2004 Discovery II SE today. I am being told the 2003 had problems with the cure of the engine block. Then in 2004 BMW got it right. Therefore no more problems with over heating and tweaking. ???????????
But who are we to complain? We love these vehicles regardless and we do well to keep them running regardless of the defects weather that be faulty prop-shafts, bad oil pumps or engine ticking....
RoverParts.com/news puts it thusly: "..... Land Rover has maintained a strong level of popularity despite their noted mechanical mishaps. This is due in large part to an enthusiast community that possesses a mechanical know-how which allows them to avoid the need for expensive trips to the dealer or shop"

Thanks for the advice out there i have only put a deposit down to a shop that rehabs land rovers and bmw and so on. They sound solid when I get to finally purchase it after the rehab I'll post a pic. These guys informed me of the block issue and they feel good about the rover I put a deposit on. Thanks again.
