Default 2000 Disco II flashers won't turn off

While changing O2 sensor i must have bumped/tripped the fuel shut off button (I knew what it was right away when it would turn over but, not start) The hood was still raised when I tried to start it, if this kmatters. I went straight to the reset button, reset it, went back and it started right up but now the flashers won't go off and the doors won't lock. I have a two button key but the button don't operate the locks but the key has worked fine (locking all doors) until this point. I just bought it used a week ago and am tempted to undo the battery cables but I'm afraid to lock the radio (among other things) THAT I DO NOT HAVE CODES TO RESET!!!I have checked all fuses, unpluggeg and plugged the fuel cut off and hood alarm switchs, tried cycling the ignition on/off three times, and attempted to re sync the two button using the 1515 method (unsuccessfully) but the flashing red light did go off during this process. Truck starts and runs fine, no codes. Just can't get it inspected because because i had to pull the flasher relays to keep from killing battery. Can i undo the battery cables without "opening up a new can of worms",because I'm almost sure this will fix my flasher problem?. 97,600 miles. Thanks in advance for any help.

Try turning key to position 2 and leave for 10 minutes, to try to force the BCM to resync with the IDM module (part of fuse panel). IDM locks/unlocks doors, plus triggers flashers.

Dealer or advanced shop computer - ask the indy shop if they can do it.

Buzz, No luck with the key in 2nd position, tried it three times. If i undo the battery is it going to do anything i can't undo? Or is it a viable option? Is there a fuse i can pull to kill flashers but still have my turn signals?

I would undo the battery - if you have the radio code.
And, keep the hood switch DOWN when reattaching the battery.
Maybe that would force a resync.

I changed my battery in March 2012 and did not hold down the hood switch and my radio still works.. I don't have the radio code either.

I disconnected my battery multiple times within the past year. Never was I prompted to enter a radio code just had to switch the climate controls from Celsius to Fahrenheit. Watch, I just jinxed myself. I have to replace the starter tomorrow and probably will be prompted for a code after I reconnect the earth lead. Damn you...!!!

There is not a separate fuse, but the BCU gets a ground on pin c0663-12 to operate flashers, and on pins C660-6 and C0663-2 for the turn signals. Maybe remove 663-12 and see if that kills it.

I found directions in the manual that said "you must turn the ignition switch on then off then open and close the driver's door to reset the flashers" (didn't work). Ended up removing cables and all turned out fine. F.y.i. The radio lock code has to be set at the dealer at the purchaser's request, so chances are there is no lock on your radio but you have to kill the power to find out. Thanks for the input everyone.
