Default 2000 Disco II Instrument Gauge Cowl

Hey again -

(and I really do some searching - but the only way to get to see pics of trucks is many postings...)

The truck - (unnamed so far) 2000 LR DIsco II w/143k miles 5 seater w/leather package.

I was cleaning the dash and the cowl lifts up in my hand - This can't be right...

So - what is user serviceable under the cowl - dash lights?

I see two funky metal tabs in the rear that go in to corresponding plastic sleeves - but it all looks incomplete or perhaps broken tabs.

I also only see two holes for screws in the front. Is all I need to do to tighten everything down is find some screws to fit the holes in the front and "Bob's yer uncle.."?

Thanks,
-Stu

Yelp, Broken tabs is very common. Only thing you can do is to purchase one from the bone yard or from ebay. Dealer will be very expensive most likely.

All where broken on mine. Exact same situation.. lol. I was cleaning the dash and the damn thing just popped off.

Usually ebay. But beware.. almost all are broken. And if your interior is smokestone good luck. Took me 6 months to find one. And it wasn't perfect.. but 100% better than the one I had.

Yeah, I have not cleaned my interior for almost 6 months now. I'm afraid the carpet will fall off...

I've run into the same situation. I've got to look into it tonight/this week and see what can be done. Going to pull one of the screws out of the wife's truck and see if I can match it up with a replacement.

Double sided tape/velcro sounds like a good possibility.

I let the wife clean the interior so I can blame her if the carpet disintegrates and disappears up the vacuum cleaner . Every six months is fine though otherwise it becomes a habit like weed smoking
