Default 2000 Disco wonders on the highway.

Driving down the road the truck will just change track. If there are ruts in the pavement it gets pulled right in. I have replaced the drag link (whole bar with ends), tie rods etc. None of the ball joints etc seem to have any play in them yet the truck will change track on its own. Any one point me in the right direction..

Assuming that the alignment is OK, and you haven't just installed new tires that are wider, have greater grip, or a more narrow sidewall, it may be the steering stabilizer is about ready for replacement. Check your shocks as well. I think the name for the behavior is "tramelling" or something like that.

Rick, thanks for the response.

Already replaced the steering stabilizer and I did the stock (OEM or so they say)shocks from Atlantic British 3 months ago. Shocks aren’t very good but I had this problem before I replaced them or the stabilizer. As far as I know the tires are standard(255x65x16).

Any other ideas? Steering box, or something wrong with the steering shaft?

Have you checked the front hubs for play? Do you have a steering wobble at certain speeds?

A bad hub would show up in a shakedown test done for the ball joints wouldn’t it. One of the hubs is about 2 years old replaced to resolve one of my episodes with the trinity issue of lights.

No steering shake at various speed but I do have a vibration at 70-72mph in the truck in general. Not from the front, you feel it in your seat almost feels like it’s in the drive train maybe an un balanced drive shaft.
