Default 2001 and 2004 - do they use the same Door lock?

Does anyone know if the Front Door actuators for 2001 and 2004 are the same? Minor body changes.

Also, I am replacing my old lights with the 2004 new lights. Is there a connector conversion kit available anywhere?

Thanks

Zero body changes on 99-04 D2’s. The changes were 4.6L, HP24, plastic headlamps, grill, front bumper, tail lights/bumper lights, interior colors, nav unit option, and 04’s had CDL, and fat roof rails. Body wise all the panels are the same, so all internals like regulators, locks, and so on are interchangeable.

Much Appreciated.

Any thought on the Light Conversion? I was able to secure bunch of parts from a 04 truck.

I am also looking to replace my rear Bumper with Metal one - anyone got one for sale?

I dislike the 03-04 lights as they commonly fog up inside with moisture, and the UV fades the housing very bad so you have to keep em clean/polished often. I prefer the 94-02 glass head lights, less chance of fogging up & ZERO UV issues. That is my personal preference though.

I agree with the maintenance. Cost me $800 to replace my BMW 5 series one darn light. These plastic stuff looks good but hard to keep up. I already bought the lights need to look for conversion instruction. I saw couple of posts I will have to cut out metal to make room for new ones.

Thanks again.

Did you grab the head light pigtails from the 03-04? Makes it easier, yes front needs trimming, but not open heart by any means.

On the conversion, the grills are different heights, depending on 03-04, or not. Review the previous conversion threads for options on how to mesh the two together to your preference.

You can keep the 99-02 grill if you still have the 99-02 front bumper. Headlights will not interfere with rest of the 99-02 setup.

X1 .............. they are all interchangeable but be sure you have the key fob for them or a good tool to reprogram the keys/BCU. There is a kit to modify to 03/04 lights but it requires some cutting and carving to fit and it ain't cheap to buy. IMHO stick with the lights you've got.
