Default 2001 Discovery for Sale - Asheville, NC

Hi there. A friend is selling his wife's '01 Disco. Has 136k on the clock, cosmetic condition is very good. Mechanical condition possibly not. I have not had a chance to personally inspect but here's what I know. Currently needs a neutral safety switch (will be replaced before sale most likely), 3 amigos are on (surprise!!), mostly one family ownership since new. Spent time in CO and NC and was serviced by Blue Ridge Rover Works prior to them closing. Has factory seat covers and rubber floor mats, brush bar (I believe) and a crossbar roof rack, new Nitto Terrra Grappler tires (spare does not match but appears to have good tread), loadspace cover, loadspace rubber matt and brand new battery as of 9/17/2022. No service history unfortunately. I am posting here in hopes that it goes to a good home. He's a motivated seller as well.

As much as I love a deal I think he/she should ask more for it ... if there indeed is no rust, it runs well, and the interior is in decent shape, the new reality is 2x your friend's asking price. I'd price that rig at 10-12K, again if it all works and there's no crappy accident history etc.

Looks decent and I think fairly priced as the Disco market is cooling a bit. As they don’t even know the engine and no service history, I’d be expecting head gaskets in addition to a million little things as usual. But at that price for what I would expect needs to be sorted, it’s very fair.

@jastutte Thanks for pointing out the listing showed a 6 cylinder instead of 8!! I've alerted him to that fact and he is correcting. I'm pretty sure it was accidental and not a lack of knowledge of the engine or a catfishing attempt to pass this off as more fuel efficient than it really is.
