Default 2001 Land Rover Disco SD - OEM fog light install - won't turn on?

I have a LR Discovery II 2001 SD. Did not come with the original equipment on vehicle. I just installed OEM fog lights but they won't turn on? My Disco had the switch already and the plugs for the lights in wheel well (per shop manual). Fuse is also good... All plugged but I turn headlights then the front fog light switch (lights up) but no fog lights... Am i missing something? Thanks for any help.

The operation of the Fog lights is controlled by the BCU (body control module) and it needs to be "enabled" by Testbook because if you vehicle was bought without them, then it is turned off at the factory. So, sorry to say its a visit to the Dealer to have them "enabled",

also in the US they are switched "off" when Main beam is selected, but in Europe they work irrespective of the Main beam lights, so if you chat "nicely" to the dealer or independant who does it for you, then tell them to enable the "NO MAIN" option, that way they will work all the time

Does it have to be a dealership? Or can it be a local repair facility... I will definitely take your advice and ask if I can get enable on the "NO MAIN" option... If I have to pay dealer $$$ might as well get that too... if possible. Thanks much for your help!

Hi,

it does not "have" to be a LR Dealer, BUT it must be someone who has either, Testbook, T4, Rovacom, Faultmate, Nanocom or Autodiagnos. Good independants will have atleast one of these systems.
