2002 disco buying tips
I am going to look at a 2002 disco on Monday, I know the obvious things to look for the over heating problems, milky looking oil, the common spots for rust etc. What I want to know is there anything I should pay attention to, vibrations etc? It looks like a very nice disco and has had the head gaskets done, water pump replaced full tune up and all new fluids, new brakes and tires with the service records to prove it.

If it is original it should be replaced. period. do a quick search on this forum and you'll see real soon.
Aftermarket shafts almost all have grease zerks on each of the U Joints. Factory unit was not serviceable...
You might also want to read the "Major Service" sticky to see what is left to do on the truck.
Service records are great.
Everything electrical and mechanical should be in proper working order.
The last thing you want is a neglected Disco.
Ask if the HG's were done due to a slow leak or if they overheated the engine and if so how many times.

If your not going off road then that's understandable, if you are that's a small lump of money extra you'll have to pay, but, like you said, no big deal. I would just check the roof for oxidation, as they are a pita to clean/wax up there, so they do get it if the owner didn't clean it a lot.
