Okay, I'll be a guinea pig for $25. I ordered a set.
With the OEM brush bar installed, it's not possible to remove the headlights without doing a bunch of extra work, so changing the bulbs can be a real pain. Looking forward to seeing if these mean that I don't have to deal with that particular problem any more.

Are those the Auxbeam HB2 LED bulbs? If so, see them on Amazon for $60 a pair or $42 shipped from China on eBay.
I just figure it's a markup thing. I just ordered them direct and took the savings

My bad. I should have mentioned I couldn’t access the Auxbeam website from here in the UK. I used VPN and ordered an H4 set of bulbs from their website to my APO address.

Just ordered a set for my 04 D2. I like the look of the 03 / 04 lights but they do not age well. anybody else ever use bug spray to clean their lenses, lol?

I got great results using the polish below and my orbital polisher. Way better than those silly headlight restore kits. I bet spent 5 min or less on each light. I don't have a before picture but they were noticeably cloudy. I also spilled some Brakleen (bad idea - don't do this) on the right and it left a bad streak down the light which is 99% gone now. I bet I can get it all the way out with more effort.

I like the look of both D2 generations. The earlier ones carry the D1 look forward and the face-lift lights are a nice evolution and well done, even if they are not as durable. They clean up super easy I have found out. I think the holy grail would be to have roundies like a Defender for the 03-04. The Tuff-Rok set up for the pre face lift trucks looks pretty great. I wish this was available for the 03-04's. I am also a sucker for classic round lights. One of the things I really liked about BMW's for years was sticking with round lights and the halo when everyone went square or weird shaped.

Curious about the LED bulb swaps. How much of a concern is heat and amp draw? I don't know about LEDs that much.

the H7's on their website (and other manufacturer's brands) have cooling extensions on back end. I tried a similar pair, but could not get the light socket covers on......

Heat or current isn't and issue, it's the cooling fan/heat sink housing that sticks out the back end of bulb for the 03-04 headlight housings.......

I might try samsung led's H7 design...same package as standard H7....there are now a bunch of these standard size H7 packages available...
