Default 2002 that does not run very well at all and the key will not come out

Hello!

I just got a 2002 Discovery today and I am working the bugsout of it, It will start but will not rev and runs rough. At times it willstall out. I scanned it and had the following codes

P1536

P0650

P0560

P0335

The code that concerns me is the camshaft sensor code; theothers I am not sure are really big issues at the moment.

My battery was low, as this truck has sat for over a yearbefore I started working on it so that is why I think I had the system voltagecode.

What I have done is make sure I have spark and fuel and theyare ok, I also made sure all my grounds were clean and tight, I did find theone on the rear valve cover to body loose.

I am yet to find the cam position sensor and I would like toconfirm the wiring on it before I go and spend a fair amount of money on a newsensor. Another issue with this Rover is I cannot remove the key from theignition.

So my issues I need help on are the cam sensor location andwhat it takes to remove it, as well any other items that would cause it not torun as it should with the codes I have and what would cause the key to stay inno matter what I do?

Any and all info would be appreciated!

I think I found the cam sensor. Is it behind the oil filter?

Will the key turn to the off position? If not, check the shifter to make sure the red light next to park is lit.

The park light does light up, I need to confirm that the dash shows its in park as well becasue I do not remember if it does show that. The key does go to the off spot, I also noticed the ring around the key spot is lite up red, does that mean anything?

First thing you need to do is down load a free copy of the Rave Cd, shop manual, link is below.
Then go get your battery charged, codes indicate low voltage, then clear the codes and see what comes back.
1536 showing a/c out of range.
Once all this is done, then go to the top of this section and read/do my major service kist especially the front drive shaft.
How many miles on this truck?

Battery is good now and new. Codes erased and the camshaft sensor code comes back. Front drive shaft looks like its new or newer. The truck has 141k miles on it.

I did download the manual last night and it is very helpful so far. I wish I had a spare camshaft sensor to install to test before I buy a new one

I have no idea why the key will not come out. Also should I have a Relay 6 in my truck? I have the R9 relay which has the same symbol as R6 relay

You need to push in the key IN while turning it off.
IF the shift linkage is not adjusted properly then it may not release the key.
Try with your other hand to move the lever into park by keeping pressure on it.
That extra small movement may be all it needs to go to P.

Got the key out once! Put it back in and it stuck again!
This is the kind of stuff I bought it for. I like the task of getting them back on the road. I will say my 1st Gen Discoverys did not put up as much a fight as this one.
