Thanks for the suggestion, I will definitely check out local scrap yards and see if I can save myself some $$$

The local scrap yard has a couple of Discovery options on hand but is entirely self-service, meaning I will need to arrive with the appropriate tool(s) to remove the front and rear wiper arms from these vehicles. Is anyone able to advise the specific tool(s) I will need to remove the wiper arms?

Thanks!

A flathead screw driver and an 8mm socket a deepwell or a short extension will probably work the best but a normal one should be able to get in there. Watch the video from Atlantic British:

Is there a way to easily differentiate between a D1 vs D2? The local scrap yard with a couple of Discovery options does not maintain records on which specific model / year they have on the lot so I'm looking for a way to quickly know which one I'm looking at when I visit. I suppose one option would just be to snap a photo of my current wiper arms and compare against what they have, if it's different it's probably a D1.

Disco 1 has taillights below the rear window. On a D2 they're level.

door handles is the easy way I keep track. D1 are flush and D2 are all raised grab handles on the exterior.

Driver door sticks when I try to open it and I'm curious whether this is a common issue with an easy fix?

If the sunroofs are randomly opening it is more than likely that the sunroof ECM has gone bad. Mine would open an inch or 2 without me catching it letting rain in. It's fairly easy to get to and swap out. It's located behind the roof liner. I picked one up at the scrapyard for less than $20 and it fixed the problem.
