Default 2003 Disco 2 issues

Hey guys I'm experiencing some issues with my disco 2 that I cant quite figure out, and I'm hoping someone will be able to help me. A couple months back i pulled into my driveway and my disco wouldn't shift into park. The shift **** was fully forward, but the dashboard and lights on the shifter were not showing that I was in park. I thought that i just needed to adjust the shift cable so i proceeded to do that, and now my car will shift into park sometimes. When I shift into neutral my dashboard and shifter lights will not reed neutral without applying pressure to my shifter to make it read neutral. the last thing that has been happening is after driving about 5 miles that is when everything goes crazy my car while driving wont read on the dashboard that i am in drive, if I am at a low RPM my oil light will start to periodically come on and if I'm able to get my car in Park the P on the dash will blink. One time I had the M and S blinking right when I started my car. I realize that is a lot of stuff going on but I would greatly appreciate any input to help me figure out what is wrong.

Start by checking all of the battery and alternator connections, make sure they are clean and tight. Low or inconsistent voltage to the computers can cause all sorts of issues. When was the battery last checked or replaced?

I replaced the battery back in December so I haven’t thought to check it, but I’ll give it a shot. Thank you

The instrument panel display not showing the correct gear sounds like a problem with the adjustment of the XYZ switch.
