Default 2003 Disco II problems : ( HELP!

I have a 03 Disco II SE7 with 131k Miles. I was driving today and the rover randomly started studdering as I accelerated from a green light. I idled into the nearest parking lot and shut it off for about 30 mins. The car starts up but when i give it gas it chokes and dies. It's not over heating. The spark plugs/wires are fine. Maybe the Fuel filter or the fuel pump? Any suggestions would be great. thanks!

There is no fuel filter, and it's unlikely to be the fuel pump.

Why do you think that the plugs and wires are fine? Did you pull the plugs and see if they are?

Is the SES light on?

If it isn't, you are a likely candidate to be about the 75th person this month to need a crank position sensor. This is the time of year when marginal ones start to die from heat.

Lose spark plug wire it sounds like. I am guessing you only checked the wire sides connected to the spark plugs. Reach your hand back behind the upper manifold and make sure all the wires are connected into the coil pack. Do it when the truck it cold. That manifold gets super hot and unless you have hobbit sized hands, it's tricky to get them back there.

Good that you found that, it will be a little hard to fix.
What plug wires are you running that are fine at your mileage?

Problem is back, Started doing it again. I run factory wires and plugs. It's missing firing alot. I'm not that car savvy, I read around a bit (don't have alot of time) but it might be the spark plugs/wires or the air flow censor?

Factory or original also? With 113k miles, both are bad.

They have been replaced with factory wires and plugs at 80k miles. The rover has *131k* miles now.

Wires are fried at 50k do to the heat under the hood. Magnecore or STI wires are the ones that last on these rigs.

Ok thanks. What sparks plugs would you suggest and Where does everyone get their rover parts from?
