I figure you may have to open hole the manifold slightly,
after that it should be a matter of drilling and tapping in the right postion

Gotcha. created a new thread, so jump over there.

Thanks for the tips, guys. Hopefully I can get the trans out and the new one installed without too much of a hitch. Yeah, the Rover is in great shape otherwise, definitely worth the work, just a bum deal all around that I didn't know about the drive shaft issues. Live and learn.

I'll look into getting one of those scan gauges too - looked pretty cool. Does anyone here do the wireless to the cell phone option, or is it better just to have the stand-alone gauge? I wonder if you can hide the wire discreetly enough?

I use the wireless to cell phone option and it works great. I use the wireless(not bluetooth) obd2 and the Dash Command app on my iphone6. iPhone is mounted in front of passenger side cup holder and is easily seen. I originally got the app to go with AppRadio mode on my Pioneer AVH4000NEX and it will show on the head unit screen, but the iPhone6 screen is large enough to be seen. The scan gauge units are fine, but I did not like the mounting options I have seen.

Is the monitor in this pic an UltraGauge? I kind of like the look of it there.

x2!! If you really want to get the most out of your truck, get a t-case with diff-lock, 03's don't have it. Otherwise, all your jeep-buddies will be pulling you out a lot! It's the first and best mod you could do for more traction off-road!

I have my Scanguage II mounted directly under the HVAC controls on the black space which used to be the D1 cup holder. I just velcro and ran the wires up thru the dash. Made the LCD be green and it's very easy to read/use in that location.

Will jump in on ? thread to put 0.02 in.

I have my Scanguage II mounted
An advantage of ScanGaugeII is nav/function button placement. Came in very handy for me dealing with S&M/limp trans issues for more than a month and able to reset while driving without stopping or restart.
