ORIGINAL: stupid

broke the gas hose that is connected to the pump
Opps!
Did I read you correct? You removed ther gas tank? You didnt need to, there is a access hatch under the carpet in the cargo area, just undo the trim piece at the back by the door, roll up the carpet and BAM!, there it is.

But there was some kind of filter on the bottom of it? Most electric fuel pumps have one and most are replaceable.

The crank sensor is on the passenger side of the engine. Down low, I think towards the front and it is easiest to reach by laying ontop of the engine and reaching down and unbotling the old one.
Find it on AtlanticBritish's web site and then find it on the engine.

Just put it back together and turn the key.
It might take two or three trys but she'll start.
I just replaced the fuel pump on my wifes Volvo last week, started right up.

then should i order a crank sensor just in case it starts and then dies on me again. after all it will have a new fuel pump and a gas hose. i just hope you are right about the crank sensor cause i just dropped $500 for nothing and wasted my time.the crank sensor is about$80. ill be broke for the holidays just to that my wife can be happy again. she just loves to drive that thing every were. i drive it maybe1 to 2 hours during the weekends.
