Default 2003 Discovery Oil Pump Issue?

I have a 2003 disco and my VIN number is within the VIN range of the oil pump issues. I looked at the service records and I think mine still has the original oil pump and engine. I have just over 60,000 miles on it. Is there any recalls?

There is a TSB, but that wont do you any good.
You are on your own, even if you have a extended warranty, unless it is a LR warranty you are still on your own.

You are NOT on your own if you bought a good extended warranty. I bought my extended warranty from the dealership where I purchased the disco. I have it in black and white what parts are covered and it DOES include the oil pump and engine ect. ect.

Which span of VIN numbers lets you know if you will have the bad fuel pump issue?

Nevermind, I just found out that the 2003 Disco with 79k miles on it that I'm interested in buying is deep within the oil pump failure VIN numbers... uhhh ohh.. =/

Its priced at $6000 though... not sure what to do.

With 80k that is a pretty good price. I got my 03' with 85k for $8,000. Mine had the oil pump already changed tho...

Doesn't really matter, you can change the oil pump as many times as you want, but the problem lies within the actual engine...so unless you change the engine new oil pumps are just band-aids.

I forgot to add that mine was also NOT in the affected VIN's. But I do agree with what you are saying.

Hey there is a '03 motor with like 40k on it on eBay now for only $8,000 - LOL.
