I have a question... I turn my engine off, pull the key out and my radio/windows and other electronics still work ... anybody ever run across this???

 

Open the door - everything should stop working.
It's designed this way.

mine doesn't work that way, never has??? i just went out there, leaving my keys inside and my land rover is turned off.... opened the door and turned on the radio and rolled down the window????? whats up with that????

 

Just went out and checked mine. Windows continue to work after you turn off the engine until you open the door, radio does not. (Radio does remain on in my Chevy, so that confused me ... sorry).

As for what you just described, in my opinion that should never happen. Sounds like an ignitionswitch issue??

 

It happened to a friend of mine's LR3. I know he had it taken in and repaired. I'll ask him when I see him.

 

Windows still have power for a certain amount of time, I think 20 seconds, after you turn off the key.

 

windows have power for a short time and the radio will always work for short periods. It will turn off automatically after about 15 minutes.
