Default 2003 se7 dash lights

I just Purchased a 2003 se7 with 51,000 miles on it. The dealer where I purchased it from said Discovery's have a Quirky Dash Lights. He said they come on & go off . NO BIG DEAL.

While driving home the tc/hill desent & abs lights came on - they stayed on until i turned off the engine & then while driving they came on again.

IS this Normal for Discovery's - or should I get it looked at A.S.A.P.

thanks
Gene

Default RE: 2003 se7 dash lights

Those so-called "quirky" dash lights could mean anything from sqeaky or dusty brakes to a bad sensor to a bad ABS or shuttle valve. Land Rovers have a lot of quirks, but the lights are telling you something's wrong and are NOT "quirky".That dealer either didn't know what to do and didn't want to spend the money for diagnostics, or knew it was needing a repair and didn't want to spend the money on a proper fix. Either way, I think the dealer should be ashamed for telling you it's "no big deal" when you've got 3 dash warning lights. A Land Rover dealership can read the codes, but you may first want to see if there's an independent Rover shop anywhere near you. Before any of that, try hosing off your brakes really well and see if washing off the brake dust makes any difference. Mine sometimes will do that if I have a lot of brake dust in there. If that doesn't work, then you've got other issues.
