they are both SAI. I'm selling an engine i had in my2000 4.0 w/SAI and the guy that want to purchase the engine has a 2004 4.6 w/SAI.. vin# is SALTR19484A830751 if that helps. I talked to the dealership here in town and they said it shouldn't be an issue, just want confirmation on this.

dude I'm selling it.. not buying it. He is most likely buying it because it's been rebuilt and comes with a warranty for only $3000...
Will the the thing go in without the dashboard turning into a Christmas tree? He just wants to make sure that all the ECU's and stuff are going to work when he installs it.

All the electronic's are good to go. I feel sure all NAS 03 and 04's are SAI. But just have the SAI heads redone the and use them. The chances are the 00 is a SAI also, but have seen some that didn't have it. Just reread post. You said your 00 is SAI so it should be okay. A little lose of HP going to the 4.0, but you won't notice.

thanks for the replies. I called roverlandparts.com and acted like i needed an engine for my 2004. I told him i was trying to save a little coin and asked him if i could just use a 4.0l rather than the 2004 4.6L and he said it would bolt in however the Transmission connection for the 4.6L are different and it would cause problems. Is this true or did the guy not know what he was talking about?
I don't want to sell this guy an engine for him to get it in the shop and find out the thing won't work for him.
