Unhappy 2004 Disco II - Who can do a head gasket in N Colorado?

My local LR dealer tells me that I need a head gasket replacement on my 2004 Disco with 112k miles. I can see small oil leaks at the rear and a small coolant leak at the front of the head.

The deal is quoting $3500 for the job which is too much for my current financial situation. Can any recommend some one better (cheaper) in N Colorado?

Thanks, Dougal.

The Rover is still running so Denver should work fine.

I know someone that just had JC Rovers do their head gasket with good success. I believe price was in the neighborhood of 1800...?

I would more highly recommend Rob at MIT in Evergreen for a better quality work.
Send me your number and I'll call you.

Mike - I'm not able to send you a PM yet, I think that its the 10 days and 5 posts rule. I'll post a couple of things and see if that cures problem.

Dougal.

If you really want to do a thourough job including surfacing the heads it'll cost you more than $220. (Currently in the middle of doing the head gaskets on my 2002..)

I think I'm in it about $600 so far, but I'm also doing the plug wires, water pump, belts & hoses, some seals, & dropping the oil pan to clean the sludge out of it. The G** d**n previous owner used PENNZOIL. SOB.

Thanks GJgo & hilltopersx for the encouragement but I think that removing the head is a little beyond my capabilities. Since I need the rover for the daily commute, at this point I need to put my faith in someone that's done it before.
