Yea, maybe thats what it was programming costs anyways...the flat key opens the doors and starts the truck NO problems at all. The owners manual explains the steps for using it in the door to set the alarm or even super lock it (double click to the rear). What I have not been able to achieve is to use the flat key to start the truck, leave it running and lock the doors - to warm it up on cold mornings without just giving it to somebody walking down the street. I guess I could try one of my 50 lb dumbbells for seat weight but thats just a pain in the azz.

Any help with that issue wood be...well...helpful

Thanks

Robert

Well, you see, that is a saftey feature.
You CANNOT lock the doors with them open or the key in the ignition unless you are inside the truck.
That is so that you do not lock your keys inside.

Ummmm, if you have two keys, you can start the truck with one, and lock the door from the outside with the other. The horn will honk, but it will work. I just tried it to make sure, and the doors will all lock.

I had that thought after I went ot bed, I used to do that with my Infiniti at work, would start it, lock it and then get fuel and do my post trip inspection and turn in my paper work, car was all nice and warm and no scraping ice and snow off the windows.

Dang - I wish mine would do that, with mine, start car with key one, use key two to lock door and the horn honks once But the door will not lock [>:]

Now I'm having trouble trying to figure out this quote application *^&*

You can edit anything in the quote, but when you add to it start your post after the last "quote"

Ummmm, if you have two keys it should work. I have an '03, which electronically and mechanically is identical to your '04 except for the CDL. It may be that your computer is programmed differently for the locks. Question, when you start your truck and start actually driving, do your doors lock themselves?

I have one "fob" key and one "valet" key they both do everything (except the start and lock we are discussing)

Fob = unlock once, only the drivers side unlocks, unlock twice all other doors unlock after drivers side, lock once it locks them all, lock twice its super locked

Valet = turn towards rear once unlocks drivers side only, turn twice towards rear unlocks all, turn towards front once locks them all and turn towards front twice super locks it

and yes when i drive away the auto locks actuate for all doors
