Default 2004 disco w 3" rte lift and 275/70-18

Hey guys, just got some new tires on the disco, was concerned the would rub and had taken the sawzal to the truck, even fully articulated it doesn't seem to rub except on the radius arms. I only trimmed the edges of that plastic junk hanging down, the rear wheel well is actually a very close fit though when fully articulated, and its a little less than a finger width amount of space.

I wasn't expecting to lose so much in the way of turning, any thoughts on getting a tighter turning radius back?

Some wheel spacers should get the steering back turning tighter but then you might have some issues rubbing other places up front (fender or bumper).

Rayman, I stay out of the mud for the most part so i think they will be fine, the duratracs seem to be better for mud with that aggressive sidewall (or at least thats what i've heard) But I couldn't pass up the price (1,100 with insurance and install) I'm off road A TON, but do my best to stay in the dry stuff. They load up in clay, but if there is any standing water its no big deal. I'm sure someone here is more knowledgeable - this is my first set of bf a/t's.

Thanks Long Haul, i'm still very new to all this, i figured there are some spacers or something . . . I sure don't mind cutting on that stuff since i'd like to have real bumpers at some point. I'll start looking for spacers and see what I can find.
If anyone has recommendations I'd appreciate it.

That looks really nice. How is the ride with that? 3" lift? Does it feel tipsy in the wind? I have a 2" OME lift and have been happy with it. But have not put it through its paces yet.

yea i avoid mud when possible too, tears up brakes/seals and gets in places you cant clean it out of. if i had a trail only rig, i would go in more mud.

The new tires look great! I like that you kept the 18s . . . so many don't but they look great with 32s-33s.

thanks for the comments guys, the ride felt really strange initially i thought, it seemed a little all over the place, and after some miles were put on it settled nicely. plus these new tires it now seems really really great. it only pulls in wind that is also pulling small cars. on a windy day going past big rigs it sometimes will be pulled around a little more than i remember it doing.

First thing you should be concerned with is not the spacers but replacing the your pan hard rod with a new adjustable pan hard rod from RTE so you can recenter your front diff/tires so they are back in the center of your truck.
If you have any questions, e-mail me with your number and I'll call you.

The 3" lift will have moved the axle like DiscoMike said and so you will get more erratic steering and wandering on the road. Plus the tires are wider and will wander as well. You also have a taller sidewall and so there is more flex there and thus more wandering feeling. The extra height and weight will also magnify any small issues with all your steering components and hopefully you got an alignment right after the lift as well.

I love the look though and applaud you for keeping the 18's.
