2004 Discovery G4 BRM?!?!
While browsing the local Craigslist, I came across this: 2004 Land Rover Disco II
I am familiar with the G4 editions, which are "typically" *ahem* Tangiers orange, but the "BRM" edition? So, I emailed inquiring what that was about. " 'British Racing Motors' upgrades" is what I was told. I asked just what these upgrades were, but have not gotten a reply. From what I have seen, British Racing Motors existed mainly from the 1940's to the 1970's.
I really want to go look at it, just to see what it is, if anything more than a D2 with some stickers.

Looks nothing like any G4 I've seen. I think they just put stickers on an 04, and added the rear taillight guards. Probably not a horrible price for an 04 with a lift and arb bumper, if the miles are low, and it's in good repair.
Mine will look good like that when I get my bumper on.....
For some stupid reason I decided to work on the 99 today. And then I need a 5.5mm socket... and went to sears for their tool sale. So I haven't actually gotten anything done yet.
I wish my truck had dark seats though..... Shouldn't be TOO hard to swap over I guess... the dash and carpet are already black. I wonder if one of the used rover guys would make me a good deal on a pallet of black parts.....

I guess this would be a good place to ask this, though not trying to hi-jack this thread: I recently bought an '04 G4 edition. After working on it a little, and noticing orange overspray on the front steering components, began to wonder if mine is a true G4 edition.
I looked for a badge under the hood, and the only thing I found was a green badge that said something about a service campain and had a spot for a date and dealer code to be stamped. Is that what I was looking for?

I e-mailed them w/the vin # and asked. But after i got thinkin' about it more, I started looking around it. If it was a fake/copy, someone went to great lenghts to make it. They would have had to pretty much strip it to the bare body and paint it, as it is orange behind all the door panels, the inside of the rear gate, and even underneath the undercoating in the wheelwells.

Yes, I got a reply by LRNA this morning, they state it is a G4 edition. The only reason it had me worried was:1- PO worked at a LR dealer, so would have access to the goodies to "convert" it, 2- I ran a vin check online a couple diff. places and it kept coming back as an S model. 3- the orange overspray under the front end. The paint I'm pretty sure was the hood was re-sprayed(wish he woulda done all the nicks and scratches in the fenders)
