Default 2004 Discovery SE7 for sale, am I crazy?

I've been tracking this Discovery for a good while now. I'll admit I'm letting emotions get the best because I think it looks terrific and would like to check it out. But that price just makes me think, what am I insane?

https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/...227755579.html

I last saw this vehicle posted back around March and then disappeared. I figured they sold it, but now I see its come back today. They've actually lowered the price from what I remember first seeing it.

Again, just looking for consent from the group that I am out of my mind. Or just maybe, this could be something to consider haggling over.

They put a new (rebuilt) engine in it recently, which is how they're justifying the price. Still, I think this absolutely is crazy money. The remanufactured long block is only $7k. Pop one into an average D2 you can get for $3k or less and you're still only looking at a $10k car.

Whoever is selling this is under the delusion that they can recoup all their repairs and investments, none of which have taken it beyond bone stock. I'd offer $7k tops—tops.

I mean, he's gotta be like 22-25k into it. And he's only driven it 2k miles? Shame.

Pass... you could pick up a blown head gasket disco for under $2k, then put in a brand new Turner block and still be well under $10k

Don't be fooled by the hyper focused photos. Like the above have said, it is too high at that price. If the interior was immaculate, the undercarriage rust free and the engine legit, it's still a $10k-12k max and most wouldn't pay that. Be patient and look everyday if you really really want one. There are great one's out there that will be up soon.

Off thread but, am I the only one wary of any CL seller that doesn't show the engine bay?

Seller is an idiot or scumbag.

NVA vehicle are also known to have rust issues.
