245/75/16's . . . anyone run these? would a 2" lift clear em?
i'm in need of some new tires and i was wondering, would a 2" spacer lift clear 245/75/16's? 31" tires basically. The reason i'm wondering is that's the same size stock jeep rubicons run. They're pretty easily had and i figure if i'm replacing them anyway . . . . .
Plus MTR's are pretty good in the rain/snow. . .
any input on this?

Are you talking about a D1 or DII?
Either will take a 245 with out a lift.
If you are buying new tires consider the BFG MT's, they will out last the MTR's on and off the road.
The MTR has a little sipping that will help on wet surfaces, that is the only plus.
Just food for thought.

s i don't have to lift it at all to clear 245/75's? i have a 2002 discovery II . .is that better or worse?
I've run quite a few types of tires. on my old TJ (jeep) i ran
GSA's
BFG MT's
Sidewinder MT's
BFG AT's
Pro comp xterrains
TSL's
IROKS
MTR's
Boggers
Baja claws
pretty much covers it on the TJ.
The MTR's are cheap since people remove them from their rubicons when they go bigger. So there's lots of them out there.

Good luck,

i run 245/75r16's on a 3" lift with (no wheelwell trimming done) and still run into a little rubbing when in a tight turn. its nothing unmanagable, but it's definately occuring.

I think it is a personal judgement call each has to make.

I am running the remmington Wide Brute RV 245/75R16s on my 95 4.0 SE with no problem. I have the coil spring conversion instead of the air bags but that is it and they do not rub at all.
I got 265's like disco mike it rubs on the radius arms but that will fixed soon The D1 a D2 will work just find with 245's u made have to trim a little around the wheel wells if it is a D1.
