Default Are 255-265/xx-16 tires OK for just city driving?

The ones fitted on my disco96 are 215/xx-16. I got it that way and its only been a few months. I don't like the way it looks from behind. It's like having a wide body and very thin legs. I don't do off road, just city driving. I read in another thread that your choice of tires depends on the MPG, or in my case KmPL, you want to sacrifice or something to that effect. Gas is very cheap here in Riyadh for very obvious reasons so that part can be skipped. Question is, how wider or bigger can i go without doing modifications like lifting and such? Is there any other thing I would need to adjust?

you can get 255/65/16. theyre the same diameter as stock but you might have to adjust the steering stops slightly if the tires rub on the radus arms.

First of all, the numbers you replaced by XXare as important as the first digits on a tire. Second, I know that a nice 245/70-16 tire looks right at home on a D1. Toyo make a nice city tire called the 'transpath'. Get that for just city driving.

255/65-16 requires an 8 inch wide rim, and unless I'm wrong, the D1s came with 16X7s.

The only problem, mot addressed so far, with installing 265's, is you will loose a lot of low end power and about 2 MPG in town, so be prepared.
