Default 255/55R18 vs. 255/60/R18 Nitto Terra Grappler

Yeah, I know, another tire thread...

I'm about to buy a set of tires for my Disco, and my research is telling me that I can run a 60 series tire with no suspension modifications, or rubbing.

The tires I'm looking at are the Nitto Terra Grapplers from discounttiredirect.com. The 60 series tires are about $20 more a piece, so would it be worth the extra $80 for a little bit more height, or should I save some cash and just go for the stock size? I would like a bit more sidewall, and taller tires are always cooler, but if the difference is negligible I'd rather save the money.

the difference in diameter is 1 inch. that means you will gain 1/2" inch lift. if you are worried about sidewall then get yourself 16 inch rims.

I thought about getting a set of 16's but the stock Rover 16's don't really float my boat, and finding a halfway decent set of aftermarket rims is proving difficult. Plus I actually like the looks of the 18's.

I think my best bet would be to run stock size tires and rims until I'm ready to spring for a suspension lift, and can really upgrade.

That is, unless someone knows of a decent set of 16" rims and tires that can be had for $800ish?
