The 3 amigos have returned! I did the option B a long time ago, Sept. of 2010. No problems for the longest time, but in about the last 6 months, the lights would return for no apparent reason, I'd clear them with my ABS amigo unit, fight with them a bit over the next few days, then they'd go away, only to return at random intervals. Random as in I even kept a notebook, noting the time, and driving situation when they appeared. No pattern. I now own a Nanocom Evo and I get this message:
Message on Nanocom Evo.
Any thoughts or directions to take to begin to fix it and keep the 3 amigos at bay? When I did the original Option B in '10, I did install a new shuttle valve. Is it possible it has failed again? Thanks for all your assistance!!
I believe the fundamental issue is that the seals in the abs unit weep brake fluid. Eventually those seals need to be replaced. My guess is you’ll have to pull apart the abs unit and replace the seals in the middle part of the unit to remedy the problem.
I just did option B Friday but my friend who I bought my truck from the local LR tech and he said even with option B it’s only a matter of time before you need to replace the seals in the abs unit.
Check for an open circuit in the shuttle valve switch itself. That's what my issue was I think, I did option B at the same time so not totally sure. But I had an open in one of the switches.

I have to challenge this assertion.
It's certainly possible for the seals to leak and trigger the Three Amigos, but based on the preponderance of information on this and other forums over many, many years, the "fundamental issue" is failure of the printed circuit in the modulator. Plus, the Option B instructions include steps to inspect for brake fluid that may have leaked past the seals, and testing the electrical resistance of the switches.
As for the original poster's situation, it's certainly possible the seals have begun to leak in the eleven years since he did Option B, but why not first confirm the grounding point is viable? It takes just a minute to loosen and clean the grounding point. If that addresses the problem, GREAT; if the Boys from South of the Border return then it's time to look further. For example, as the trucks have gotten older instances of the insulation on the wires in the switches failing, which would mean replacing the switches and repeating Option B.
Josh Salas, who did all the work and came up with Option B, also published a write-up about replacing the seals, but his landroverclubvi site is long gone. A company called Falconworks in Tucson sells replacement seals and they likely include instructions. If fluid is found when the switches are removed (per the Option B instructions), then it's time to get in touch with Falconworks.
But again, before leaping to the conclusion that the seals have failed, I'd first confirm the Option B ground is clean and secure (plus the Option B splices, if there is any doubt (e.g. good, heatshrink-wrapped solder splices were not done). If those steps don't solve the problem, then remove the switches, check for brake fluid, check the insulation on the wiring in the switches, and test the resistance of the switches.
I would second this opinion and did eventually replace those same seals. Falconworks is the only vendor I found with the proper o-rings and the link is below:
Hope this helps and please do visit back to share the eventual outcome (be it a sold vehicle in lieu of a fix) so others may learn from the time and advice being provided by members of the forum.
I removed and cleaned the ground circuit so that a good ground was assured. Still get the 3 amigos. I did a clear with my Nanocom and got the same fault, saying and shuttle valve switch electrical failure. It also said it had failed 11 times, even though it was only after an immediate clearing of the faults by the Nanocom. It was an immediate reappearance of the 3 lights, not 11 times. So it apparently is a default response by Nanocom. Was able to clear the lights with my ABS amigo, but it only lasted for about 20 minutes of driving, then they returned. Checked with the Nanocom, same error message. Since I've recently invested in an Atlantic British long block and complete rebuild of the engine (working great, by the way!!) my wife has informed me that this is my final vehicle so I"m willing to make whatever repairs/replacements needed to fix this.
Your continued input is always greatly appreciated!!
