Not much of an off-roading guy and more of a street snow/concrete riding guy here around NY. I want My disco 2 as big as possible any thoughts on a 3" lift with 315/75/16, any thoughts?

Narrow 33's don't really fit without a 3 inch lift, wheel spacers, and fender cutting. I think you could fit those wide 35's if you used 3" lift springs and a spacer, as well as wheel spacers or aftermarket rims, and cut the wheel arches and installed Flexi-flares. 315's won't really fit the 7 inch wheels. Even if you did all that, they will still rub the wheel wells when hitting a bump. They will rub the radius arms when turning. They will rub the spring perches when flexing. Flex, travel, and turning radius will be severely limited. You'll also break axles and maybe the diff. Your driveline will vibrate because the angle is too steep, and the poor caster angle and increased scrub radius will make steering hard.

It can be done, and it can be made to look good with only moderate trimming. However it won't be cheap or easy. But if you're not going to wheel the truck why even bother, when you can just throw some 285/75's on with just 3" springs and next to no trimming at all.
I have over 3 inches (I haven't measured but about 4) with 2" wheel spacers and somewhat fat 33s and they hit the fender when I turn and hit a dip at the same time. It is not a pleasant feeling or sound when they rub (with mud lugs on the tires). If I had skinnier tires it might just clear. With 35s I'd be cutting fenders for sure.
I drive 80mph all of the time in mine and mine doesn't wobble until the driveshaft is sick and dying (I'm on my third in four years).
Budget an adjustable panhard bar. At 3 inches the axle shift is noticeable to the driver side. You'll also need longer brake lines, and shocks, and your steering will be twitchy but manageable (no return to center either, so if you pass out in a turn it will keep turning! Hahaha. On the positive side no one will want to borrow your Rover) unless you get modified radius arms to fix the castor. I didn't change anything else for 3 inches. Then set aside a little money for a new driveshaft because a lift on a mature driveshaft seems to make them go boom, or squeak.
Fwiw I think 35s on a disco look great but I think 3 inches will leave you wanting more (as it did me.. So I added pucks under the spring perches for 2 more... But then I added weight). Finally, my 4.0 feels like an old Volkswagen beetle engine with 33's. With 35's you'd want to change your gears to 4.11s or more and that's when you get into some REAL money.
That 33's on about 4 inches of lift. I put the wheel spacers on because the tires rubbed inside when I turned. With the spacers they rubbed on the outside. my solution is to wait for these tires to wear out and get 31s because if I go any bigger on the lift I'll have to switch to a multi double cardan driveshaft which is also big bucks. Or get the multi double cardan and stiffer, taller springs and be almost as hossed up as you will be. Ford Bronco springs for certain years will work and give you the harshest ride imaginable. And they are cheap.
People who say you will break your diff gears with 33s are talking about hard driving, or offroad, or towing. Mine have been fine for years even though these tires are monstrously heavy and I have an ARB bumper and winch. With 35s?... I bet you would want shorter gears even if you don't do any of those things. I'm borderline slow as is.
Your spare won't fit on the back. I got an extension for mine and it barely clears the bumper.

You only live once. Do it! Do it right! Cut the darned fenders. I used a circular saw with a wood blade on mine when I took those cheapo plastic rock sliders off with the mid flaps. You can barely tell at 15 feet away. The purists will look down on you while secretly being jealous--they should be driving range rovers anyway. You will be closer to heaven. You will have to inch into parking garages and sometimes back out while scraping the sign (yes, I have done that and worse) because you will be too mighty. Approach trees and overhangs like a dog approaches a new dog house... You are made to roam free!
Anyway, any Disco is better than a jeep and look what those idiots spend on their trucks.

I am running a 3" with 33"'s and an ARB bumper up front. The ARB makes clearance up front a breeze with the 33"'s but with a stock bumper I would think you would have to do some MAJOR cutting to stuff 35"'s under it.
