I'm running 33s on my 3" OME and I haven't really noticed any steering issues to speak of. I have a tiny bit of rubbing on the lower portion of my front bumper when turning on an incline, but that will disappear when the new bumper goes on. Just my $0.02.

i'm running 33's with my 2" RTE (hd springs). a little rubbing up front when flexing, but not as bad as i'd expected. in florida we don't get a chance to flex out that much, so that may be the reason. either way i plan on getting 1" coil spacers to get a little more clearance when money permits.

Smile question

If i did this same lift on my 2004 DII, would i need to change anything axel wise, driveshaft, or anything i am missing? I would be installing the bortoff arb heavy bumper. I would be using the ome 751 762 Hd springs and shocks. i think i would be using duratrac 32"'s on 18"'s. I live in florida so theres not a boulder in sight...just everglades...

Thanks Chris

The truck looks great. Im curious though why the lift requires a spacer in the rear to be level? You would think that the rear springs would be a good match for the front springs.

the 751 is a 3-inch front spring on the D2, and the 762 is a 2-inch rear spring on the D2. The 763 is closer to the 3-inch rear spring for a D2.

But I didnt want to go extra stiff (763), so I went with 762 + a spacer. If going with a heavy bumper a 1/2" spacer might be better for you. I'll get a bumper, but I'm going slimline (no brush guard, etc).

vandev - you would definitely need to rebuild your driveshaft, but you need to do this anyway. as far as other mods, time will tell....but right now I'm driving a 3" lift with no problems. the steering is a little more "loose" but it's not a big deal at all.

absolutely no regrets.

That makes sense now on the use of the spacer. What is the advantage of this setup compared to the 3" Rte springs? I'm still trying to decide what to get for my disco.

the 3" RTE is much more expensive because it's more like 4" without heavy armor, requiring trailing arms, panhard rod, etc. it has longer travel shocks, too (which is awesome btw), so you need extended brake lines. it's a higher quality, more extreme kit than the ome.

the 3" OME is about as far as you go without more modifications....and even then it's a stretch. for instance, I'll probably need to replace my rotoflex pretty soon. we'll see.
