3 Warning Lights 99 Disco II
So, a few weeks ago I saw three warning lights come on and stay on. If I immediately turned off the car then turned it right back on, they went off as normal. Now, they are on all of the time:
ABS Brakes
TC
HILL DESCENT (picture of car with exclamation point).
Any ideas what is going on and if I need to get this looked at? I am not too worried because brakes seem fine, I never go off-roading. Do these need to be off for me to pass inspection?
Can I continue driving with them on or do I have to bring the car to the dealer? I would rather not bc I know it's going to be VERY expensive!!
Thanks, in advance, for your help with this.

First do a search on this forum for the "three amigos", that is your problem. Very common for DII's.
Could be any number of things, anything from bad ABS sensor(s), excessive brake dust, worn brake pads, bad ABS modulator...yes it is still safe to drive.
Yes only the dealercan read the ABS trouble codes. Take it to a brake shop and have a free brake inspection done. If your brake pads are too thin then start there.

Thanks for you rresponse - thing is, I just got 4 new tires and new front brakes. I wonder if the front brake job was shoddy or if they didn't replace the discs? Seems to be another cause...any other suggestions are appreciated as I am sure a free brake check will just say that I need new back brakes now.

No lights were ever on prior to the brake job, no. I also was surprised at the cheap cost of the job (a local mechanic recommended to me by someone at work...), just over $200, I believe. I don't have any squeaking or any noises comign from brakes at all now, no. Any other ideas? I will test the ABS system tonight when driving home by pressing firmly to see if I get the pulsating. I am worried about testing HDC in case it's not working though? I don't have the slip in front of me for brake job but remember seeing something about Green on there? Is that a type of pad?

The brakes are CK Brakes R&R Front pads...I dont' know if that makes any sense or not . . this is what I am reading from the invoice. I wasn't sure if teh ABS system was working or not when I tried to test it today - I didn't slam on them or press them hard enough, I don't think. Will try again tomorrow....tres amigos still on though!
