Default 30,000 mile tune-up

This my first time writing in...I have an 02 Disco with 30,000 and i know that the dealer suggests I do the 30,000 maintenance of changing fluids, etc. Do I need to go through the dealer or will my trusted mechanic be able to the work that is needed???

Two thoughts, is your truck still in warranty, if so Rover will pay for it.
If not, if you want to save alot of money and are mechanically minded, you can do the service in your drive way and save alot.
What do you think?

Thanks...I am mechanically inclined as I would love to do most the work myself...can you suggest material or a book that demonstrates most of the work and where drains and fluids are located and the suggested quality of grade to use is explained??? Although I purchased an extended warranty, the dealership quated me with a price of $800-$900...

Your extended warranty is not to cover maintance, failures only.
When you get ready, pull out your owners manual, turn to the recommended service section and call me, I'll walk you thru it.
It is a great way to spend a day and get to know your truck better.
