Default 60,000 Mile Service

Has anyone had this service package done on their Rover? My dealer wants $700 to do it to my 99 Range Rover. Is this service worth $700?

I followed my service guide religiously and had my '97 Disco always serviced at the dealer. 8 years of trouble free driving. But when it came to trade in time, the dealer didn't care about how the vehicle was serviced, so I can't really look at my maintenance approach as an investment. Is it worth it? It depends on how you approach the concept of preventitive maintenance. Personally, I like the feeling that my rig is in primo shape, and my chances of unexpected failure is slim. Some folks would rather roll the dice and pay when something is actually wrong. Financially, it's probably not worth it. But I do it anyway, just because I don't like headaches.

PS It won't be $700. You can't get out of the LR service department for under a grand. I think it is a rule. They'll always recommend something to be fixed outside the scope of the preventitive maintenance. I must be insane, an easy mark at the very least.

VB,

The 60K service is quite extensive. It involves many fluid and filter changes as well as spark plugs for the first time. Is it worth $ 700 ? It depends on you. How much is the vehicle worth right now ? Are you looking for reliability or selling ? Remember, this ain't no Chevy. Sale prices reflect service prices.
