After you get it all together spray paint the exterior with clear paint to seal the block and help keep it cleaner when you have oil leaks. Clean engines are easier to find leaks and work on. Also, if you have not replaced the rear cam plug yet make sure you silicone it in, I have pulled more than two engines that were leaking from that cam plug.

Good idea. Matte 2K.
I do have a new cam plug. I was thinking about using the same Permatex Aviation sealant I used for the core plugs. The rear core plugs (either side of cam plug) did go in much easier than the plugs in the side of the block. Hoping the sealant will do it’s job there…

Almost crapped myself when I saw this yesterday. Turns out, nothing seems to attach to it - at least not on the existing engine in the truck.
Also, narrowly averted disaster. I almost threw away the box that the machined crank came in - I actually put it in the recycling bin. Then, I had a second thought and kept it to put the old crank in at some point. Two days later when I realized the woodruff key I received from Rimmer Bros was the wrong one, I looked in the box I almost got rid of and found the original key in a plastic bag - Whew!
