4.6 disco
I have a few Questions I own a 94' disco and I am looking for another for a trail truck and i came across one that has a small lift and bigger tires on it. This Disco is owned by a land rover mecanic and is in decent shape cosmeticaly but there is one big diffrence with this one he claims that he rebuilt the motor 10,000 miles ago with a 4.6 short block i am asuming out of a newer range rover, a bigger cam and it looked like the stock 3.9 top end i would like to know if this is a common thing or a reasonable thing to do because it idles rough as hell which would makes sense because of the cam but i just dont want to get screwed buing a motor that isnt up to par. Also it has really bad tire rub i was wondering how hard that is to fix.

The 4.6 is a plus when it comes to extra power, a good choice to go to if the 3.9 were to fail.
The only real difference between the 2 blocks is a longer stroke and of course alot more power. If my 99 4.0 engine were to fail, I would also go to a 4.6.
The tire rub is not a big issue and should be an eay correct for you.

would the fact that it has a stroked out motor make it run like a muscle car though cuz i must say i have never heard a stroked rover. I forgot one other thing where can i get a head liner for it at
All of Rovers V8's ,up thru the 2004's, are all the same engine, a old Buick engine built in 1962 that has been stroked to a 3.5 then the 3.9 to the 4.0 to the 4.2 and the last the 4.6
Not anything to woory about.
