Thumbs up 4 Years Later....

And have only replaced the fan blade, fan clutch, water pump, PS pump.
Still not using any coolant or oil. Nothing but routine maintenance.
Who says D2's are junk? (Or did I get a "lemon"? )

I think most problems, even head gaskets are due to lack of maintenance. A bad fan clutch or brittle hose can go unnoticed and cause a serious overheat. Also lack of changing coolant is a problem. Sounds like you've taken care of the most dangerous weak spots.
